PinkFest is an annual benefit to raise awareness of breast cancer and other cancers facing women, and to secure funds to
support them in the fight against this disease.
PinkFest 2008 was hosted at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square, New York City on Sept. 24, 2008 with an OPEN BAR event featuring three star performers. The
Christine Martucci Band and Jared Matthew Weiss joined returning headliner Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan at a rock ‘n' roll party that kicked off Hard Rock’s
Pinktober season!
All PinkFest net proceeds went to Cancer and Careers, an amazing non-profit organization that supports working women with cancer, during and after diagnosis
and treatment.
Thank you for helping PinkFest grow so quickly. We appreciate everyone's support in 2008 and look forward to doing it again in 2009!
Thank you to all of our sponsors and guests. You've helped us raise more than $35,000 to benefit CancerandCareers.org! Here is a look at what the 2008 event entailed:

The Christine Martucci Band
Whether it's classic rock (the Beatles, Bob Dylan), jazz and rhythm and blues (Bessie Smith, Howling Wolf), or Motown (Gladys Knight, Aretha
Franklin), Christine Martucci takes the best of all her influences and molds them into a style that is all her own... real, soulful rock and roll.
Recent winner of the Asbury Park Music Award for “I’m All in,” she’s thrilled to be joining PinkFest to support women during a challenging time in
their lives.
Joe D’Urso & Stone Caravan, an Americana/Jersey Shore/Roots Rock and Roll band, released their tenth CD, “Cause...” in January 2006. D’Urso mixes
his writing and music with full out rockers and quiet observations and has performed in 24 countries.
Five years ago, Jared Matthew Weiss moved to New York City to make music. While dealing with adjusting to a new place, missing friends, and
never having enough friggin' money, he had a revelation: Shape, Shell & Shine. It was a simple program that helped him prioritize his body, his
look, and his state of mind, every day. He started talking to people about his idea and they all wanted in. In five years, Jared has taught Shape,
Shell & Shine to hundreds of men, women and children. In addition, he has co-hosted a full hour of The Tyra Banks Show and created a 30-day
confidence-building program for Shape magazine. Recently, Jared has returned to his music, incorporating his holistic life philosophy of hope,
peace, and love.
